The UK – Philippines Friendship Day is celebrated annually during the 20th day of October to commemorate the partnership that was built by the people of the two nations. A wide variety of activities are held in both the UK and PH to showcase the ongoing efforts to further solidify the ties that were forged throughout several generations.
As part of this year’s celebration, representatives from Football for Humanity tied up with British Embassy Manila and Mindanao Peace Council to create an event for children from conflict areas. These children were given fun football activities and a mini performance show in a very scenic football field and event area at Everest Sky Pitch in Silang, Cavite.
Football Manila’s coaches and several volunteers from Manila Tala FC helped and participated in the event by providing the kids a variety of football related drills and games. The coaches also helped in the officiating of the small sided matches that are fit for the children.
